The Dance Company’s mission is to share with each student our passion for dancing as well as create a love for dance. We believe that an education in dance benefits all aspects of one’s life. Dancing builds self confidence while promoting a healthy body image. We encourage teamwork and positive life skills that will help our students succeed in all aspects of life. For our parents, we strive to provide an affordable, organized, enjoyable program so they may completely take part in the achievements and accomplishments of their children. DINA SINK GOLDING

owner / executive director

Dina brings expertise in the organizational and financial components that have made The Dance Company a model of innovation and efficiency. Dina has had many years in the financial industry with de/nova and startup business experiences which serves us well with our expansions. She now uses those skills to service the needs of customers not only in dance instruction but retail expertise as well. She has previously served as Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at her Bank of Richmond as well as worked in Risk Management at Capital One. She has a Master’s of Science in Criminal Justice as well as a concentration in Business Administration from VCU. 

She is married to Matt of Golding’s DJ & Lighting and is the proud mom of Sydney, Lyndsey, and Mason.

 

GLENDA SINK HALE

owner / artistic director

Glenda developed and continues to lead the comprehensive programs of dance instruction here at The Dance Company. With a specialized staff of gifted teachers, she is able to share her talents and expertise to make TDC a successful Dance Studio for teaching excellence. She desires first of all to foster the love of dance through technical training and the development of one’s creativity in the artistry of dance. Glenda earned her Bachelor’s degree from VCU in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in dance education. She is proficient in all venues of dance. Under her leadership TDC has prepared young women for careers at Ballet West, NY, Disney and studying in dance at VCU, Shenandoah, James Madison and others through their participation in our Company programs. Glenda has developed our Competition program producing many awards in excellence both individually and collectively, including coaching and choreographing a National Award winning production. While she thrives in the personal, hands on teacher roll, Glenda also knows how valuable it is to train her staff and students in the essentials of teaching dance fundamentals, teamwork, personal integrity and responsibility. She takes great pride in the accomplishments of The Dance Company students and staff.

Glenda has danced with Gregory Hines as well as participated in classes taught by notables such as Savion Glover, David Covington, and Yvonne Edwards; Bakari Wilder from “Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk”, Carol Vaughn, Cartier Williams, Robert Reed and Smokey Stevens, Brenda Bufalino, Genna Carney from “Riverdance”, and “42nd Street” cast, Aysha Upchurch.
Glenda is married to Rich Hale Jr and takes great delight in parenting Shane and Ainsley along with their many farm animals.

The Studio

The Dance Company consists of 5000 square feet of studio, office and lobby space. We offer 4 large well lit studios covered in Marley multi-purpose flooring with high ceilings. Our state of the art sprung sub flooring and quality sound system make the dance experience both safe and exciting. Each studio also features mirrors, barres and viewing windows for the parents. Our own dancewear store located inside the front entrance provides students with basic dance supplies needed for all classes.
