RECREATIONAL PROGRAM

Our recreational program gives dancers opportunities to dance in a relaxed, fun environment and show off their new skills in our annual spring recital. They are also given the opportunity to go through the audition process and preform in our annual winter show if they would like that experience! Those interested in trying out dance without the final performance are welcome to attend our session classes.

  • Dancers at this age are introduced to Ballet. Tap and Jazz. Basic skills are taught, coordination, balance, poise and direction. Dancers at this age are encouraged to use their imagination and have fun while being introduced to the art of dance.

  • Dancers will begin to learn more advanced skills in genres including Ballet, Jazz. Tap and Hip- Hop. Placement based on skill, interest and drive. Understanding of placement and alignment as well as technical abilities will be developed at this stage. Dancers are encouraged to take Ballet as well as any other genre that excites his/her artistic creativity. Ballet is a must for development!

  • These classes are developed for individuals who enjoy the art of dance, have fun in after school programs and want to dedicate some time to the art of dance. It is encouraged that he/she take ballet to develop technical skills. This will only enhance skill in rec. programs in the genres of Tap. Jazz. Hip-Hop and Lyrical.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

The Dance Company's Pre-Professional program provides a base for the dedicated dancer. This program offers the student who has an interest in dance past high school, either at a collegiate level or as a profession, a more comprehensive approach. The student will receive an education in conditioning. concepts in choreography, nutrition, injury prevention, anatomy and music appreciation as well as continuation in all core genre dance training.

COMPANY PROGRAM

A vital part of The Dance Company is a program for those dancers who display an exceptional ability to dance and who are willing to work at an accelerated pace. The auditioned companies will be technically and artistically challenging and will prepare our dancers for future dance endeavors. These classes are developed for individuals who are interested in more advanced, development and technical dance skill. Students are placed in classes through teacher evaluations and technique skill rather than just age. Ballet is required as well as Jazz Technique, Stretch & Strength, Choreography/ Improv and Modern. We also offer extra classes including Tap, Pointe, Hip- Hop, Acro and Contemporary. The Company Program is a performance based program and auditions are held annually.

COMPETITION PROGRAM

The Dance Company's competitive dance program is designed to provide students with more opportunities to expand their passion for dance through all genres. We focus on delivering a more in-depth dance education that emphasizes the importance of a strong technical foundation and continually builds on previous skills. Students selected for our competitive program will learn from our professional staff. Dancers will attend competitions where they will receive constructive feedback from respective judges on how they can improve their performance. The competitive dance structure helps students build self-confidence and understand the importance of hard work, dedication and perseverance. TDC encourages our dancers to set and achieve their goals while instilling positive values of teamwork and commitment.
